Not sure. All rights reserved. Fallout NV was a total train-wreck when it released. I've heard that they didn't score high enough on a site called metacritic when Fallout: New Vegas came out. And people will call he a heretic? It even has better reviews on Steam than Fallout 3. Unless you want to argue that baldur's gate's gameplay is radically different somehow. Like say a randomly spawned deathclaw. NV had your actions actually change the encounters - kill or deal with Legion bases and you won't have them spawning in large parts of the map. Avellone's preference here.Or we could just set the game outside of California and the American Southwest. Anyways opinions aside Fallout: New Vegas was a huge success. Bethesda Game Studios might have made the IPs, but Bethesda Softworks owns them and their decision matters.yea agreed New Vegas was by far the best one. Kill NCR bases and they'll move further west. Personally, id love for obsidian to make another fallout but it'll probably never happen. The lead designer for new Vegas is the lead designer of obsidians current flagship title, Pillars of Eternity and its sequel, deadfire.Todd Howard doesn't really have much say in this. To expand on B), yes Bethesda stuffed in a bunch of new things suddenly in Fallout 4.
When New Vegas received an 84 instead of the required 85 on Metacritic, Zenimax didn’t pay royalties to Obsidian. Yes, act 3 was rushed(dunno if after dlc and free patch additions its been changed), but it wasn't enough to ruin the whole game and it did great things like tooltips which people should definitely use more in crpgs instead of "hello random npc, can you give me exposition?". There's nothing wrong with Saying the Core Region's story has been told and moving to Lousiana or Texas or South Carolina or Michigan or freaking Seattle, etc etc.I played both and actually got less interested the more the game went on, they are boring games, this isn't due to being a new franchise or setting it's due to the plots not being particularly interesting and the gameplay itself being rather boring.Doesn't that actually mean you don't like classic crpgs if you found gameplay to be boring? And Pillar of Eternity's worst problem was "well this setting is new to everyone, so nobody has much of attachment to it and since they hadn't figured out tooltips yet, you had to hear exposition" which isn't in main scheme much of a problem really. You want to know my least favorite one? After the originals, of course.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.A subreddit for (almost) anything related to games - video games, board games, card games, etc. Hell, you cant even say "no", whatever you choose u have to do the quest. My opinion on this is that "God Howard" is mad that Fallout: New Vegas is "better" than their game Fallout 3. As much as I’d kill for a new Fallout game by the latter, it isn’t going to happen for a couple reasons. I preferred Bethesda's fallout games. Why doesnt Bethesda allow Obsidian to make another Fallout game? Why doesnt Bethesda allow Obsidian to make another Fallout game? Its sad that you cant kill essential NPCs in Fallout 4. he's.Just my two cents, no facts backing this up, but Todd and Bethesda probably want to take Fallout in a new direction (more focused on crafting, tighter combat, less focused on choice making and traditional RPG elements etc) and Obsidian likely want to keep the series closer to its roots as they were the original developers. They weren't the original devs, black isle was, tho they have a few people from black isle at obsidian.Personally, I think Obsidian isn't very interessted in being hired by others anymore, since they have quite bad experience with it, and also have had quite a good success with their kickstarters.I've equally heard that Obsidian is busy with other projects right now and would rather focus on them. The whole metacritic thing was just supposed to be a financial bonus, IIRC. [Discussion] Why won't Bethesda allow obsidian to make another Fallout game? I've heard that they didn't score high enough on a site called metacritic when Fallout: New Vegas came out. Settlement system was an idea they tried, which was a limited success. Anyways opinions aside Fallout: New Vegas was a huge success. You could kill supermutants until the cows came home, but they'd always respawn.
But they were still cracking games. It's an inherent problem with the post-apocalyptic genre. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. To this day, there are still major bugs that can render the game completely unplayable. Why are certain npcs non-killable because when said NPC's got killed by the player people found out 10 hhours later that they' essentially screwed themselves over.Keep in mind that the unkillable also means that the npc can't be killed by other critters.
Am not sure that Bethesda is really upset over that, at least, I hadn't heard that before.Im pretty sure most of the people at obsidian that worked on new Vegas have left the company, and the ones remaining have no interest in making another fallout. Correct me if i'm wrong but they scored like a 9 and were supposed to get a 10 or something? Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts.Cookies help us deliver our Services. I want your opinions on this matter. They were supposed to get something at 90, the score ended around 88 or something (Sitting at 84 right now, maybe it was 85 for the bonus). JavaScript is disabled. I can't tell you how annoying it was in Fallout 3 to erealize the guy I was supposed to complete a quest chain for almost invariably died because surprise. But the thing is, unless you try you don't know do you?
