I got this one early in the summer of '86 and listened to it continuously 'til school came back in. Grunge wasn't even close to being as hard and heavy as heavy metal.Robert Fleischman; one of the best voices ever in heavy metal. The same melodies yes, but not the speed.
The songs on this thing are like a series of chords waiting for a solo to come around" I could not agree more.I can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned the AOR perfection that is "No Substitute". notice that a particular Vinnie Vincent CD release or compilation is missing Vinnie's style of writing the songs around the solos works best for him and it shows when you compare this to the weaker All Systems Go album. 7/10.Someone above said 'not an ounce of commercialism.' Funny thing ive got a live boot' as well and Vinnie' is tearing it up big time (like on the record) playing as fast as hell and sounding like the virtuoso shredder that he is. Don't think so. Every song here is well written with some crazy solos thrown in for good measure. However, the solos are a little over the top. :-(.Thanks great dane who cares about distortion that dude can't play the guitar to save his life!!!!! Boyz R Gonna Rock is a classic in the genre, Vinnie's solos in 'Animal' are jaw droppingly wicked, and I can never resist listening to the glam goodness of tracks like 'Shoot U full of Love', and 'Do You Wanna Make Love'. In fact I think my hearing deteriorated after owning this album, but it was worth it. Wanna Be Your Victim and No Substitute are the best songs here.JIMBO "Just because Mr. Cusano plays really fast doesn't make him a great guitarist. You can totally tell. Vincent is a fairly good player. Yeah he's got the speed down,but he needs to be a little more Melodic. robert fleischman and vinnie vincent were also in the band warrior together, and robert fleischman also sang on some of vinnie vincent's solo stuff.Well, Vinnie is indeed a very capable giutarist, but this album is appalling, poor songwriting, tunes are mediocre and uncatchy and the production quite ordinary...3/10. love that flashy stuff....... anymore like him out there?
