No happy ending for the blob =(.The blob has strongmind control powers, it can always get another.Excellent write-up, really enjoyed this game and watching these guys play through it aswell.Also for anyone who watched the Finale and was wondering the code to open the door for the secret ending is being playing on a tape in a room with a collectable so it's not just random/trial and error.So either way you're fucked, is what the two endings entail?Secret is ending is just being meta about how you the player/game logic are controlling everything and it ends when you disconnect.
Being drowned and lowered down by the girl in the water (one of the most horrifying threats in any game I’ve played, reminds me why I steer clear of the ocean) and being enveloped by the blob at the end.According to the theory, the former is a metaphor for the umbilical cord forming on a fetus. We see them being held in cages, loaded into vans and even marched in line in front of what could very well be potential buyers.They walk in an orderly fashion before performing simple motor skills, such as jumping and turning, thus demonstrating their worth to those that might order their services.The crux of this theory, however, is that the boy that we play is the next prototype of enslaved merchandise and that everything he does in Inside is preconceived and part of a larger test. Near the ending of the game, the protagonist (due to certain circumstances) becomes part of the Huddle, which then gives the player control of it.
Near the end of the game people start to notice the blob is acting stranger than normal and go to see its containment area as they all prepare for the expected eventual escape.The final area being fake is evident by the scale model of the exact outside area that you crash into in the end. I find it interesting that throughout the game, your character has been heading deeper and deeper underground, inside the facility and while at first it might seem like the blob got out, in the end it only went deeper inside. These worms would invade through orifices (such as the mouth or anus) and drive the host body to become violent and uncontrollable.Once the worms got to humans, these now violent infected hosts spread their parasites to everyone else (Note: these are not the mind slaves).
