You should see a little parachute icon next to your teammates’ names, indicating who you can pick to follow down.
You can still select a teammate to follow up until exiting the plane. But if you're dropping from Pier Town and want to go to Mylta Power, I'd much rather look for a car close to the main roads, as those are more or less guaranteed. However, if you open up your parachute as soon as you can, you will be able to cover even more distance while free falling and this extra distance can be a big tactical advantage when playing PUBG. If there’s only a pair of you, then the decision becomes pretty quick.
I had a plane go from east to west cutting right across the middle of the map. I would think of it like this.

Once I lose that extra 10kph, do it again until your chute opens by itself. Also if the flight path is highly off-center of the map, then the competition for the vehicles can be very excessive and you might want to choose the parachute. You can probably squeeze out another ~100m if you dont land on a hill. Can you explain what you mean by "holding a constant 40 m/s" vs "oscillating"? One of the best and most important skills at the early stages of PUBG PC, especially in areas with a large number of people landing, is the parachuting skill. From my tests flying at ~20km/h vertical speed was vastly superior to the oscillating technique. Its not meant for solely distance, its to maximize distance AND speed of decent. The Vikendi Snow Map, part of update 24 for PUBG is now live on the game's test servers.

You could sail there, sure. Fly downwards for a second to gain some speed and then flatten out by releasing W. You gain some forward momentum for 2ish seconds and then you aim down again and repeat the process. Often that isn't too hard, but it's a slight gamble.

Previously, there were many different fast parachutes in PUBG PC, but after each update, the parachute system changed and you would have to learn from the beginning or find another way.

Vikendi Snow Map for PUBG introduces a new parachute system, snow weather, new weapons, and more.

I feel like OP missed the point of the oscillate method. But practically, You should rather drop down to get a vehicle and drive 3 km in 100km/h(drop down time can be amortized), rather than parachute grinding at 20km/h speed.20km/h is the vertical speed, you move way faster horizontal,New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast,More posts from the PUBATTLEGROUNDS community. The largest community for PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Stadia. then sure, go for the sail, since finding a car out in the wilderness is going to be a huuuuuge gamble. If you want to travel (my guesstimation here on the distance!!) At any time, you can choose to stop following them by clicking to another person on your team from the map menu or by holding the indicated icon on your screen.By doing it before dropping out of the plane becomes available, you can probably coordinate with your teammates about who can lead them down. I went straight down, grabbed a car then headed over to military and I ended up running over a guy that had done this to get to military a full minute after I had landed.

I mean not all guide need to be the most effective ;).The thing is, and I'm sure a lot of people already know this. This allows you to travel further distance without sacrificing much time as opposed to pulling the chute early.I think if you maintain around 50 km/h you will maximize your distance. For diving, I hold W and make my body as horizontal as possible, then use alt look to see your target. For chuting, you want to tap W and release in a rhythm.I like to tap W enough that I'm leaning into the ground and gain around 10kph, then tap S and sort of make myself sit straight.

Your character will leave the plane when the person you’re following jumps out, and you follow their descent down. It made me laugh so I recorded it.But... you were lucky to get motorcycle right away.. and still the guy who went much further with parachute were basically further than you when he landed. Image via PUBG Corporation Landing with your allies can be a little tricky in PUBG.

It definitely isn't the "go-to" method for longer distances. i found that worked the best so far.

Nevertheless, as said, good video, and much effort and "science" put into it, so kudos for that. I've read that tapping W will make you go further once the parachute is deployed, but I haven't found the correct rythm of the keypress.

2-2.2k+km from your center, you might aswell drop more or less downwards and look for a car close to the main roads. i was watching a streamer and he was saying you want to keep speed at 47mk/h. Staying close to the center of the circle is key to increasing your chances of … you should be able to get close to two map squares if you open parachute early and rock back and fourth.

Open the map to select a teammate to follow. Every time I've oscillated to extend distance that's what I have done,I love how a lot of people argue that doing this isn't worth it. level 1. Are you wiggling as fast as possible to keep it near 40?Does oscillating mean you drop down all the way, then let go until the guy is not angled down any more?He probably refers to oscillating between 30-50 km/hr, it seems like that's what he was doing when he explained it. Improved backpack design will be applied to all parachute skins.

It maintains a decent speed while also extending the distance you travel by a bit.

This is especially true if you are heading to an area…
